    January 6, 2024 - Past prime.

January 6, 2024 - Initially not good and consigned most of it to the pot. Eventually some cherry fruit emerges but this was initally so very dry and unyielding. Not whatt I look for in Cndp. Would avoid in future.

    December 20, 2023 - Double Blind tasting
Medium/ dark garnet with touch of bricking
Medium plus aromas of cherry/ plum with forest floor/ eucalyptus and tobacco notes - no new oak
Overall the nose was a little stale/old and not very suggestive of anything in particular
Medium plus bodied with palate of ripe red/black plum with leather and tobacco
Medium plus acidity and medium plus rather coarse tannins and medium plus alcohol
Nice length led by fruit and tannins and fairly well balanced at + x 3
Palate was much fresher than aromas suggested
Really had no where to go with this and guessed Brunello based on structure alone - even after reveal I couldn't go back and pick up and Grenache/ Rhone character
Drink now or hold 5-7 years

December 19, 2023 - Medium to dark ruby. Perhaps some bricking. Filtered
Aromatics medium +. No new oak. Early on has furniture/chemical note followed by dry brambles, red and blue fruit mix. Finishes with green moss.
Palate has a medium + body. Acid medium +. Tannins medium +, medium grained. Alcohol medium +. Ripe red and blue fruits with a mossy forest floor.
Finish has a medium + length. Balanced
Dry glass notes of new world fruit intensity
Overall big, not sure of typicity for Chateauneuf though.
    Drinks well now
