November 24, 2023 - This is classic Mike Smith cab. Chock-full of aromas and flavors. Medium bodied, red and black currants, tobacco, and a finish that goes on forever. If you want a great, modern Napa cab with a great QPR and aging potential, this is it.

December 28, 2022 - PnP. Time has helped this wine. The initial bottle was a hot mess. This has calmed down a lot. Dominated by black fruit, cassis, cedar and tobacco on the nose, but still has a LOT heat on the nose. Similar flavors with the black fruit dominating followed by cassis, tobacco, cedar, but still shows a lot of heat on the palate. Full bodied , but not balanced.. Pushed the edge, but in my opinion, too extracted, too much heat. YMMV. My last bottle. For those who love this style, I dropped off the list for you.

September 26, 2022 - My first bottle of two. Cassis, leather, some plummy notes, hints of either menthol or eucalyptus (can't really say which). Long finish. I found this hard to put down, but luckily did and will see how this develops on night #2. Just a lovely wine!

April 11, 2022 - First of three cellared since release. Really a treat and a step up from the 2012, 2014 and 2016 (the only other Becklyns I've cracked so far). Has a bit more structure and length than the rest. Open from the pnp but you should decant for sediment. Nice success.

March 1, 2022 - Time has been good to this wine. Its been 7 years since the last bottle was opened and that was a mess. This has calmed down a lot. Dominated by black fruit, cassis, cedar and tobacco on the nose. Still has some heat on the nose. Similar flavors with the black fruit dominating followed by cassis, tobacco, cedar. Full bodied with a much better balanced finish. Still pushed the edge, but enjoyable.
