Benoit Hardy Does not like this wine: 89 points
August 31, 2023 - 2nd meeting with this estate after a first missed opportunity 18 months ago. Since then, we must admit that prices have soared in the face of international demand and confidential production.
The estate is characterized by rapid disgorging, never more than 2 years. Here, this 2012, disgorged in 2014, is an ancestor on the current market. At the time, I had already drunk Les Béguines 2012 and I had not been enthusiastic.
Very primary nose of red fruit and smoke.
Angular and compact on the palate, which struggles to pierce an effervescence, yet fine but invading on the palate. The juice loosens little by little with aeration, but it is sorely lacking in spring and substance in my opinion. The balance is good, but I completely miss this wine, with the anonymous finish.
Price of this bottle on the market today: around €400, crazy. -

June 15, 2022 - Lunch at Les 110 de Taillevent London: Prévost can be quite divisive but I am a big fan. Couldn't resist when I saw a Fac-Simile with some age as I only have one that is way too young, and this experience confirmed my suspicions that this is a wine that needs time. Some nascent secondary flavours, ripe red berries that had a certain wildness to it, the mouthfeel was quite interesting with umami characteristics that I don't think I have gotten so strongly in a champagne before. Fruit was a little shy compared to the salinity, slightly candied finish. Much better in a Zalto universal compared to a champagne glass. Quite a singular wine but probably not worth the secondary market pricing.

June 22, 2020 - 2005 Burgundy blinds on Jason's roof: Certainly the best rose made from Pinot Meunier! (I know, faint praise :)) This was very good from the get go, showing some very nice flavors that hinted at what I might call oxidation (of which I'm not a huge fan in Champagne) but never remotely going too far. Some nice tart fruit as well. Gone too quickly!

July 3, 2019 - Was a bit grumpy upon opening but after an hour of air was firing. A very interesting and engaging Champagne. Delicate fruit and good tension. I like this quite a bit.

January 30, 2019 - Hmm, a bit grumpy and angular tonight. The 2009 was so much more expressive and complete. This feels like it's a bit shutdown. Think a lot of 2012s just need more time. Revisit in 2022?
