March 7, 2019 - Much drier than previous bottles/vintages I've had of this North Canterbury NZ wine, in fact just better all round.

Back label claims, ''...orange zest and spice....'' That's there, plus more.

    C....gold, looks Med-Heavy body.

N.....rich and intense, honey, beeswax, pinched lemon peel. Exciting. Mild botrytis.

T.....high alc (14%), heavy body. Long flavours, great fruit, steely core keeps it all together. Drier than previous bottles, esp at end. Floury tannins, sound complexity - better than a Greywacke 2016 I had alongside it. Good acid balance. Not fully mature, I'd guess it'll be a 94 wine within a few yrs.

VFM....will buy more of this 2014, feels like a £26-£30 NZ Riesling (it was £21.99 from House of Townend, UK)

January 19, 2019 - Hand-picked fruit from the oldest vines with at least 30% botrytis infection cool-fermented to 14.5% alc. and fermented to dryness 7.6 g/L RS, Matured in old barrels

Colour Pal gold - yellow colour with some depth, lighter on rim. 15/15
Nose The nose is intense with a penetrating amalgam of ripe lime and lemony fruit melded with honeysuckle, musk and talc botrytis, along with fresh, piquant citrus and reductive minerally elements. 27/30
Palate Dryish to taste, the palate has good weight, depth and body with flavours of ripe citrus fruits, marmalade and honey, with a musky and minerally layer. The wine is smooth in texture and there is considerable power and drive. The alcohol and lacy acidity are balanced, and the wine has excellent proportion, the dense core unfolding succulent citrus and exotic tropical fruit flavours on a very long and sustained finish. 40/44
Overall This is a full and substantial dryish Riesling with citrus, marmalade and honied flavours, showing drive, power and balance. I would certainly buy it again 9/11

June 6, 2018 - Lovely light gold colour. Nose of apples with some kerosene. Disappointing in the mouth, nowhere near as good as the 2011. Predominant flavour for me was feijoa (think perfumy tangy apple for those not from NZ). Doubt it has much improving to do nor a long life in front of it.

December 12, 2016 - Bought NZ Cellar, London.
    Well chilled.

    Colour....lovely golden colour.

Nose....not much at all, expected more from this Riesling specialist. A soft hint of citrus, some honey and....that's all.

Taste...Apples (Granny Smith, crisp, sharp), some Quince, a subtle wet stone flavour. The back label says, ''Dry.'' Bollocks it is. Nothing near Dry. Back labels...don't get me started. It is medium-sweet, Spatlese style. Classy, does it v well. But Dry it ain't! Good long flavours, lovely swirling acidity.

    Defo buy again.
