May 31, 2021 - Crimson colour, still surprisingly light. Light aroma of dried berries, herbs, grilled meat (although that may well be the steaks I cooking). Started off very stringent tannin, but after a short while (30 mins) smooths out almost completely. Cherry, blueberry, blackberry. Full of fruit, dry but welcoming. Lively acidity that balances well.
Certainly requires a reasonable decant but worth a small wait. Not near its peak, many years ahead of it.

January 29, 2021 - Medium colour, dark red and purple. Strong spicy aroma, old oak, pepper, hot but not off putting. Plum, dark berries, cocoa, olive. Tannin is a bit bitter, even after a couple of hours decanting. A bit disappointing, tannin does not blend well. The colour while pouring suggests some good years ahead, but not sure what will happen to the tannin in the years ahead.

April 24, 2020 - Dark colour with dirty hue. Dry sweet aroma, medium spice. Blackberry, spice, eucalyptus. Medium body. Pleasant but uneven wine.

June 7, 2019 - Black core, dark purple hue. Aroma of dried herbs, oak, dried mushrooms. Plum, blackberry, mulberries. Creamy chocolate, thyme, olive. Full body, full of flavour, very smooth. Tannin is very fine throughout. Well balanced acidity. It has improved markedly in the last year or two. Will continue to improve for a number of years, still young.

April 26, 2018 - Black cherry colour with dirty deep hue. A dusting lack of a light hue for a wine this young. Sawdust, fresh tar, cherry, cloves, almonds. Black cherry, truffle, black pepper, prune, licorice, smoked meat. Very savoury almost meaty flavour, a touch of eucalyptus at the end. Medium plus body. Strong, fine grained tannin. This wine is clearly a while away from its peak drinking. It has flavour, balanced acidity, integrated oak but it isn't coming together yet. The tannin and savoury flavour are overtaking. I believe that given some time this will develop into a great wine, but at least 3 years away, maybe more.
The rating represents its current position not its potential.
