Community Tasting Notes 8

May 28, 2016 - Drunk over dinner with friends accompanying a gorgonzola souffle', no TN.
The bottle went very fast. I distinctly remember a very fine note of orange blossom water on the nose which popped out of the glass. Also; less sweet and dense than what I remember when tasting it at the winery. It certainly has enough acidity to make it lively and balanced. Went very well with the food and the bottle disappeared in no time...

October 17, 2015 - After the '13 I had high expectations for this and it let me down a bit flavourful nose of wet stone, white/yellow tropical fruit mix, similar palate but with a sensation that the sweetness/acidity are somewhat out of step

October 3, 2015 - Same bottle as 10/2 (open 24 hours.) This strikes me a a little more wild on the nose - sponti cumin and spices, along with serious flinty minerality. Lime and some red apple - it's a bit more golden than the Kabinett as well. Cool herbs - like mint, and some honey, then some creamy/musky fruit - melon? The palate is just delicious, with the extra RS filling it out some. When trilled lots of lime and flint come to the fore - then it kind of oscillates - with softer moments and more acidic/energetic ones. This softens a lot in the finish, with lots of honey and apple, and just a bit of lime, which comes out a bit more as the finish trails off. There was less of this left in the bottle, and maybe that is playing a role, but 24 hours later, the Kabinett strikes me a superior. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 15.5-16/20.
