Community Tasting Notes 6

February 9, 2024 - Decanted and let breathe (which it still needs). Light sediment
Deeply scented with notes of smashed blackberry, cassis, plum and blueberry that are met with scents of mocha, cigar box, suede, black licorice, vanilla, and touches of black pepper, herbs, shoe polish and felt-tip markers.
The palate is full and rich with velvety full tannins and a touch of VA.
Rich flavors of macerated blackberry, cassis, leather, mocha, pepper, liquid violets, anise, herbs and touches of pepper and vanilla creme. The finish is slightly warm and lingers with good fruit intensity.

April 14, 2023 - Still some good fruit, well balanced. Nice nose, Full mouth but not much finish. Tasty.

July 13, 2019 - Nice fruit flavor, blackberries, plum, good tannins in finish, and not too overbearing. Could age a bit longer.

September 14, 2018 - Wonderful aromas of smoke, chocolate, and dark fruit. Well balanced, rich in flavor and texture, and a smiling finish. Wow! It was well worth the wait to cellar this bottle.

August 11, 2016 - this is ok, maybe for a $30 wine, For the $63 I paid, this is plonk. This reminds me of the artificially vanilla flavored H3 columbia crest I had last night, at about $12. It is better than the thin $33 Andrew Will cab sav. None of them are anywhere near the excellent $37 l'Ecole 41 Walla Walla valley cab sav. I will look for more of that.
