November 27, 2023 - Decanted over 2 hours. Powerful nose, plenty of alcohol. On the tongue, the flavours seemed to last for ever. Licorice and spices. Loved it. This will last a long time, but really great drinking now. Pity I have only one more bottle.

March 29, 2023 - Decanted 1 hr and drank over 2 hrs. Delicious Barossa Shiraz in the zone.

July 3, 2018 - I compare the 2011 Beast with the 2013. Both excellent wines, but I prefer the 2013 since I felt it was better balanced wine. Complex, aromatic nose with a smooth, a bit fruit forward, long lasting finish. Can't wait to see what this will like in several years.

April 30, 2017 - New French oak and difficult soils make for an interestingly complex Beast

Black savoury nose that hints at Christmas spice

Smooth texture with black dusty tannins, medium to full bodied, intensity of fruit balanced by black acidity on long finish

February 8, 2017 - Saturated, very dark red violet color; savory, charcoal, garrigue, roasted cherry nose; tasty, savory, charcoal, garrigue, roasted cherry palate with integrating oak; needs 4-plus years; medium-plus finish 91+ points
