June 24, 2015 - Two white Burgs bought in Beaune: I bought this wine in Beaune due to its light colour ... and wow did that pay off ... Once I got past the dodgy cork, which totally disintegrated on extraction ... Sharing it with friends in Alba, Piemonte, in hotel tumblers, this was a beautiful, ethereal wine, everything you hope for in a mature white Burgundy ... The bouquet was very clean, but rich and expressive, once you got past some sulphides. Gentle, haunting spices and white florals, with citrus, flint, lemon honey and a touch of wet wool. A beautiful wine on palate, honeyed, glycerol, citric and flinty. Rich on the mid palate but with lovely, fresh acidity and minerality on the back palate. Superbly poised and balanced. Very long, finishing dry. A beautiful Perrières. This wine could easily have gone another 5+ years. Excellent!
