October 14, 2023 - reddish youthful colour. spicy & bright cassis, raspberry, tobacco with polished but still firm tannins, good acidic lift. At peak now but should have plenty of years ahead.

September 27, 2023 - Drinking great, it has developed well, most of the acid has dropped off but it isnt flat. Still has a backbone. Red and Black fruits. Perfectly integrated French oak. This is by far the best Cab Blend coming out of the Okanagan or Canada for that matter. Still has ageing potential, but will be moving to a more mature position. Drinking exceptionally now, but could probably go another 10 years. I've been testing the limits of BC ageing potential and OL has some of the best in Canada.

June 17, 2023 - Nose: Red fruit (cherry), oak
    Palette: Sour cherry, oak, chocolate
Finish: Lingering, chocolate, very dry. Benefits from a longer decant and paired with food

May 14, 2023 - At age ten, this still has some pretty rough tannin on the finish. Is it still too young? Nose shows some black berries, as does the palate. Fairly concentrated with an element of tartness that is perhaps to be expected from wine grown in Canadian terroir. But I feel this wine would have been better if they dialed back the extraction. Or maybe it just needs another 5-10 years? Time will tell. Drink or hold.

March 18, 2023 - Last bottle (possibly ever, but more on that later). Sealed under cork. Deep mulberry red. Quite a nice nose on this one. Cedar, plum, mulberry, some smoke, graphite and a bit of herbaceousness. Medium bodied, elevated acidity, moderate alcohol, smooth tannins, crunchy, slightly dry fruit extract. Similar flavour profile as on the nose. The fruit doesn't seem overly ripe. Feels a bit thin and stern. Astringent and dry finish. Smells much better than it tastes. Kind of disappointing. Overall I've not been that impressed with this producer and stopped buying these years ago. The hype over the anticipated quality from this producer when they started in 2001 never really panned out for me, especially at the price point. So long Osoyoos Larose.
