December 26, 2022 - Boxing Day wine, opened at the Jackson Room in the HKC. P&P.

Really beautiful Puligny-Montrachet, and drinking in an excellent window. Toasty, nutty aromatics coming through right from the get-go, balanced with floral notes and great freshness. There was good acidity but it was not overbearing or harsh, and there was good structure on the palate.

Very enjoyable now, but will keep for a few years!

April 11, 2018 - Bright, light yellow. Matchstick reduction, lemon, peach, and crushed stone. Ripe acidity frames flavors of stone fruit that finish with impressive persistence and a saline minerality. The 2014 Les Champs-Gain impresses for its complexity.

October 31, 2017 - If God gives you lemons... Make... Wine! Clean, refreshing lemon, high acid that cuts through the salmon we're enjoying. White flowers, toast, petrol through the finish. Young, could use time in the bottle.

July 19, 2017 - This wine is clear with a pale lemon appearance. The nose is clean, medium intensity with notes of lemon and characteristics of oak. On the palate, this wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium body with flavors of green apple, lemon lime. Secondary flavors of almond and a hint of smoke. Finish is medium+ with acidity and a minerality all the way through. I enjoyed it with a Japanese-inspired rice bowl that had a hint of heat from ginger and turmeric, and the wine, nicely balanced on its own, paired just great with the dish. Note: WSET Level 2 tasting.
