March 30, 2011 - Dense red, brick at the edges but still purple-tinted. On the nose, vanillin dominates- clearly US oak. There is some dense blackberry, briar patch and spice. The palate is juicy, lush and supple, with gentle tannin and good structure. A surprise package. Now to 2020.

January 12, 2008 - NOSE: Intense Lumber notes, plum, and Musk - PALATE: Woody, Caraway Seed, and dark chocolate.
Would go great with Edam or Smoked Gouda. -

December 6, 2005 - After a day open (was on the gas) it's deep, fruity, and a little oaky -- 'twas nice with a no-tomato pizza yesterday.

April 29, 2005 - With some coaxing, there were pleasant notes of blackcurrant wafting over my glass. Slightly acidic aftertaste, not as fruity as many oher Australian wines.
