December 6, 2022 - Salon Focofi Paris walkabout and dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. Like the Ruchottes next to it, this felt very light as well, some herbal notes.

November 28, 2021 - Sooooooo perfumed, more elegant and less dense version of Leroy. Power, stemmy (which resembles DRC somewhat), earthy, red fruit, cherry, spice. Intoxicating nose at least 96 points. Palate softer, very expressive but nowhere near the peak. 94-95+

September 7, 2021 - Pretty, quite charming palate. Not giving a lot aromatically as cold plus pop and pour.

February 17, 2021 - While still a decade or more away from real drinkability, one can see this trending in the right direction. Significantly structure, and yet already wonderfully complex. 95+

July 5, 2019 - Dinner at Auberge du Pot d'Etain (L'Isle sur Serein - France): Superbly bright red cherry start-to-finish, both sweet and tart. Plus some black cherry notes from middle-to-finish. Air starting bringing out savory spice, then baking spice as well with even more time in glass. Incredibly elegant with sneaky power emerging as the evening moved forward. Just a baby, but incredibly enticing with a long life going forward.

March 18, 2018 - 2014 red Burgundy tasting w/ incredible whites served blind (Eddie V's - Tysons Corner, VA): Initial impression is very polished red and black fruit with sweet spices and sap. Medium concentration, silky and polished, subtle sweet raspberry fruit driven palate impression, bright acidity and strong mineral, and a medium to long subtle raspberry and sweet spices driven finish. Based on the initial impression of the concentration, I mistaken pick this as the Chaignots. With two hours of air, beautiful sweet spices like clove and cinnamon emerge also coffee and light caramel, and a hint of Vosne spices. With air, this becomes very polished and precise. The initial rating of 92 pts and 94 pts at the end.

March 11, 2017 - La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Cross-section of black and red berries with savory spice, highlighted by exceptional harmony and balance. Very long and elegant finish. 95+ point potential.

March 11, 2017 - Very light touch, nothing felt forced. Mid weight, elegant version Vougeot. Preferred Ruchottes slightly.

March 11, 2017 - La Paulée de New York - Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - Chelsea Piers): Excellent stuff with more iron and more muscle than the Ruchottes. Still ample red lush fruit and a polished package. Terrific Vougeot from up high on the slope.

March 11, 2017 - La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2014 Vintage Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): As with the Ruchotte, some bottle variation. First taste showed the usual elegance, but the fruit was diffuse and not well defined. Another bottle later had more length, grip, and dynamic interplay of black cherry and blood orange. Again, had I only tried the initial bottle, I would have been underwhelmed.
