  December 2, 2023 - Copper color. Burnt sugar and citrus zest nose. A hint of varnish. Bual-like. Very acidic on the palate. Puckering. The attack is quite fine. A bit aggressive on the back end. Serious quality for Tinta Negra. I think I would enjoy this more with a nice cream soup. (91)

  December 2, 2021 - Opened for Portugal-France Euro 2021. Draw on the field and not a fair fight in the wine department, but Portugal definitely won this one.
  
  This is a really interesting wine. I can see how others were confused or put off by it, but I loved it. Seaweed and burnt sugar from the previous note are good descriptors. There's a great salinity to this, tons of acid, and limited sweetness, but there's also a green, bordering on rancid quality that is very present, particularly on the nose. I think this is what may be putting people off, but I did not find it unpleasant at all, just unusual. The palate is much cleaner, but very complex. Super fun wine.

  July 28, 2017 - Even better than my first taste from April. The nose is seaweed and burnt sugar. Flavors of peach and coffee. A great, long, salty, citrus finish.

  April 21, 2017 - Intense aroma of peach juice. Salted caramel, dried apricot, pineapple, iodine. Lengthy high acid finish.
