  December 16, 2017 - Deep purple color with a bouquet and flavor of plums with some brambly notes. The wine was made from Primitivo grapes, felt to be Zinfandel's old world counterpart, and certainly does seem to be a dumbed down Zinfandel, clunky rather than graceful, muted rather than overtly fruity, and lacking the nuance and depth of its new world progeny. This shows what can be done when there is an attempt to make good wine, not a lot of mediocre wine.

  August 3, 2016 - Deep ruby red wine with limited black berry nose. Limited legs on swirling the glass. The taste has plenty of fruit, but not much depth or balance. Overall relatively forgettable, acceptable for basic food, but don't waste a special meal with this wine.
