  May 30, 2021 - Last of three bottles bought on release. Had the other two decades ago. I never liked this wine, until now. Wow this was actually great. To bad I had the other bottles when they were young.

  March 7, 2015 - Tucked away in the back of the cellar. Opened on a whim and decanted for awhile. The wine still has life. Animal scent and barnyard smells; decent fruit; smelled a bit of a cellar (but in a good way).

  January 3, 2008 - I was worried, but I need not have been. Although it’s aging, it hasn’t progressed much more than the last bottle I tasted back in 2006. Still a bit harsh on the finish, but after an hour, there was some improvement.

  May 5, 2006 - I fear we might have missed the window on this wine. I have always been a fan of Newton Merlot ever since the 1992 vintage, I have even found that they could age well, as an 1987 a few years ago showed. This, however, is not the best example. Taste note from memory – I thought the wine was bit tough and harsh, from initial palette to finish. It opened and smoothed out some after an hour, but not much. I will try another bottle, but I don’t think waiting will improve it.
