July 1, 2021 - This has aged well and went down quickly.
A full bodied sauv blanc -- oak and spice from the barrel. Spice, stone fruit, earth.
White pepper on the finish. -

May 1, 2016 - Fermented and aged in new French oak for 18 months, this medium yellow/gold wine (100% Sauvignon Blanc) serves up aromas and flavors of lemon custard, vanilla, white peaches, starfruit and tarragon. Creamy-textured and with well-integrated alcohol (14.2%), it stays solid in the middle and closes with a lengthy, albeit oak-laden finish. Many tasters will enjoy this style. For me, a lighter hand with the oak would have lead to a fresher, more enjoyable product. Drink now-2019.

Barrel fermented and aged in mostly new oak for 12-14 or 16-18 months (depending who told us), this is a "chardonnay-esque" sauv blanc, lacking the heavy grass/hay of most sauv blanc. So not quite varietally correct... but wow it's good!
This has a distinct mushroom characteristic as well as a round, lengthy finish.1 person found this helpful Comment
