August 4, 2023 - {screwcap, 14.2%} Slightly fading rim to a deep garnet hue. Mature nose of mulberry, plums, compost. Sweetly enticing. Flavours are consistent, with rotting strawberries, and the acidity is trembling its way towards volatile. The tannins are largely absent; it’s quite friendly, if a bit simple. Medium weight, not too alcoholic. Ready to drink; perhaps a bit beyond peak. I see Star Lane on the label - I keep reading it as White Star Line, and thinking of all those pre-war liners, including the infamous Titanic!

April 26, 2020 - Yes it was time to review this wine from a Vineyard that promises plenty but has its up and downs.
Deep Black Ruby in colour with a ruby rim at April 2020 , fine and maturing as excepted . Stelvin closure too nice.
Wow leaping out of the glass is lovely ripe sweet prunes , plumbs with that nice touch of iodine which you get on nice complex wines from this area. Nice newish oak used too which is now well integrated ok.v/nice indeed Class here.
On the palate we have maturing fruit flavours now , only lite maturing mid palate richness , and still some brash tannins , but loosing fruit unfortunately. if u have drink up as its peaked . Ok with rare meat as tannins will work well with the sweetness of the meat. Again , all the breeding here without the punch .QPR $30 is about right if u like this style . -

August 10, 2019 - Nice little wine with sweet oak finish. Crowd pleaser. In its space, won’t improve, drink over the next 2 years.

July 28, 2015 - This needs much more time. Classic cool climate style, with strong acidity. Great structure though. This actually reminds of a Rosso di Montalcino in style. Leave for at least 3 years and the rating will rise.
