  March 25, 2014 - From 75cl, good natural cork with massive Weinstein crystals. This is a big sweet mother of a butch Catalan red wine, stylistically, alcoholically, and TN-ically a dead ringer for a hefty Montsant Grenache. Unfortunately it was made with Pinot Noir grapes. Bleh... But, to accentuate the positive: more acidic liveliness than the very flat 2007 ("2/x") or 2009 ("4/x") vintages, and after a couple of hours air a certain sweet, boozy, ripely jammy-red-fruity charm. Not remotely worth the premium price. 86P
  
  Spanish PN? The best I have tried to date was most definitely "Bassus", which was cheap and charmed the socks off everyone I served it to in Valencia. Alas, it isn't available at a sensible price in Germany. All the others have been hot, over-priced, overly alcoholic disappointments. Perhaps this will change, but I won't be buying any more until I get some very pointed recommendations...

  November 15, 2013 - From 75cl, decanted 1 hour. Nice dark-fruit PN aromatics, but the entry is really sweet and the mid-palate darn hot (14,5% alc). Well made monolithic bodybuilder PN, fine if you like that sort of thing. 86P
