September 7, 2009 - Slight woodsy smell, but amazingly fruity taste. Blackberry, cherry, and plum. Decanting for about 30 minutes helped bring more smoothness. Very excellent.

October 2, 1989 - At home at dinner (spaghetti). Amazing black ruby color, completely opaque, deep. Lots of fruit and oak in the nose. Very attractive black cherry bouquet. On the palate, volatile acidity mars what might otherwise be a great wine. Even so, the wine is drinkable, with mature fruit and silky texture also in evidence. 5-11-19-4: 79/100.
