January 27, 2024 - Big but not bludgeoning. Vibrant and alive, yet still silky and balanced. Like all great wine, it has aged very well.

October 27, 2023 - Drank from a Zalto Den'ark Bordeaux glass. Very dark purple color and basically opaque.

Incredible aromatics leap from the glass upon opening. Fresh crushed red fruit and then blackberry pie, baking spices, salted caramel, and faint mint and forest pine.

Silky mouthfeel that coats the tongue. Fresh black raspberry, plum and then red cherry are layered and fresh up front. Minerals emerge mid-palate along with some crushed rocks or graphite flavors, then some black olive. Finish is medium long and clean, no astringency at all, wonderful purity, perfectly refreshing acidity.

Overall, what a perfectly balanced wine that is energetic, but also comes across light on its feet. Dragonette is doing some really good stuff down there in the Santa Rita hills areas. Amazing effort this time.

Wine is in the drinking plateau and no need to wait longer, but should hold for at least another 5 years.

December 10, 2021 - Dark purple, quite opaque. The nose is quite fragrant, with black olives, cloves, nutmeg, faint blackberry, and lots of petrol. Intriguing.

In the mouth, the wine is luxurious showing layered red fruit...red cherry, pomegranate, blackberry, and red plum in a velvety frame. Iron, black olive, graphite emerge mid-palate before another burst of herb-flecked red fruit finishes for a good minute. So silky, elegant, sexy, and distinguished.

Great effort, certaintly tastes like a Cote Rotie or other northern Rhone wines. This wine is just entering the prime drinking window, drink now until 2025.

June 8, 2021 - For me, this is pretty close to a perfect red wine. It is smooth and lovely, but earthy and balanced, yet light and elegant. A subdued and lovely fruit dances through it... I am not the poet that this wine is. Biodynamic and clean, this wine on this night was exquisite... rare... special.
