  March 14, 2020 - Bottle 5 of 7. This is an outstanding wine that keeps getting better. Dark fruits with hints of tobacco and leather on the nose. Taste is consistent. Paired wonderfully with Italian sausage and marinara. No longer needs decant but may be advisable for sediment. Very limited production though - could have used more bottles.

  Black in the glass and throwing lots of sediment given age. On nose, menthol, sour cherry, tar, sweet cherry. On palate, sour cherry / tart cherry / black cherry & sweet tobacco flavor profile. Full body but balanced - medium+ acidity, full tannins and long finish. Would buy again. 92+
  
  I really enjoyed this - much richer than a Chianti with a similar flavor profile.
  
  San Felice's Chianti has ~ 20% Pugnitello(sp) and is a killer Chianti for the price - this wine is 60% Pugnitello and 40% Sangiovese.
