June 10, 2023 - Another amazing bottle of this wine seemingly moving to new heights. To quote myself: "The interplay of ripe fruit, acid and minerals hits me right in my lizard brain". Gives the sense that it was raised in barrel without overt oakyness. Yellow fruits, florals, chamomile, lanolin, all the things. Just superb. The general reaction at the table was, "Holy shit!"

February 16, 2023 - Popped and poured, consumed over several hours. Initially served chilled and then allowed to come up to room temperature. It should be noted that this was lovely from the first pour but improved with air and as it warmed. The 2009 Domaine du Collier Saumer Blanc pours a bright golden color, with no signs of sediment or gas. High viscosity. On the nose, this is extremely floral…like being in a grove of magnolia trees in full bloom. The flowers are accompanied by bright citrus fruit, lanolin, alfalfa and honey. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. The notes from the bouquet are confirmed and accompanied by the most lovely, almost oily texture. This is oh so woolly! The finish goes long. This is my first experience with Antoine’s wine and I’m now absolutely smitten (thanks Tim). A simply gorgeous example of Chenin from a warm vintage and an alternative to Joly if you crave a natural touch…but not too natural. This is a banger now and will continue to be so for some time. Wow.

July 5, 2020 - On day one, this was a bit too ripe for me. Glycerol and sweetness (coming through as honey) was a bit much for me. On day two, these qualities mellowed out and it was just delicious. Creamy lemons, apples, pears, warmth and spice, really good. Seems to have years ahead of it. Hope to find more old Collier.

December 2, 2019 - Full yellow. Incredibly aromatic Chenin Blanc-lanolin, citrus, and herbs. Enveloping, glycerine attack that gives a deceptive sense of sweetness. Deep, fresh mixed orange, lemon, and pear followed by excellent acidity and soil. Marvelous wine from this ripe Loire vintage that just kept showing more and more as it sat in the decanter for a few hours.

October 27, 2019 - Consistently great. Every single bottle has shown the same depth and poise. Re-discovering Collier was one of the best vinous things to happen to me in the last 2 years.
