February 9, 2013 - What an awesome wine! Totally unlike anything I've ever had before. You might think I'm crazy but sticking my nose in the glass was just like sticking my nose in an empty pickle jar. Straight up pickle juice, dill and brine on the nose. This slowly evolved into an earthy mushroomy aspect and finally became somewhat waxy. Complex and intriguing, unique and one of a kind. Only slightly off dry so the beauty of the spice in the Gewurz was shining through, but despite the lack of copious residual sugars, it still had a lovely weight on the palate. Highly recommended for lovers of funky, unique wines.

September 27, 2003 - Age has given this wine extra complexity and wonderful finesse, Gewürz to add to the roses and lychees of its youth; elegance, sève, ripe acidity, excellent length. Perfect now.

April 13, 2003 - The nose shows the expected rose petals and lychees but the spicy and earthy notes are starting to take the upper hand; elegant, stylish and refined, has lost some of its sweetness but not its ripe fruit, grapefruit-bitters; good length. Great stuff.

February 12, 2000 - Fabulous, ripe, classic Gewurz nose, lychees, roses and spices; sublime balance, nice weight, hints of bitters and spice; excellent length. Stylish, profound.

April 6, 1999 - The gewurtz was textbook stuff and further highlighted the difference between France and the rest of the world regarding this variety. While this is not an earth shaking wine - it does have finesse, balnce and a great luxurious mouth feel - a great wine to have with asian tuna tartare. 89 pnts
