  March 28, 2020 - Tasted against the 1998 Balmoral Syrah. Very cool expression, funky nose with animal, leather notes. Lean body, feminine, notes of olives, broth, tea. This is showing very well right now, there’s lots of character, in fact I like it better than the 1999 that I opened recently. Good fun to taste this against Australian Shiraz - two different worlds.

  January 21, 2013 - Stiil tasting nice, some previous bottles were more convincing. Slightly metalic taste. Drink now, but still very enjoyable

  November 16, 2011 - Perhaps a little flaccid. Not much fruit left. A little barnyard-funk on the nose. Still drinking fairly well but not much complexity. No chance of it improving from here.

  December 3, 2009 - Best QPR ever. Everything I like about Cote Rotie: smoky, meaty (but not overly so). Rushed back to the store the next day and bought half a case of mixed vintages.

  April 18, 2009 - This bottle has less structure and concentration compared to the 1999 I drank some months back. There's some dark plum and lots of smoke on the nose and palate. The wine is somewhat evolved, not sure if further cellaring will be rewarded. To me it lacks a bit of the finesse and elegance I usuallly find in well made Cote Rotie. A sort of in bewteen wine, not bad but not great either.
