Community Tasting Notes 12

January 2, 2018 - I was gifted this wine by Jason B about 6 months ago. He said it's damn good wine and I'd like it. I trusted his palate and I was grateful for the gift, I did zero research on it after receiving the bottle.

I finally got around to opening it this past weekend with some friends. Suffice to say I was blown away. I can't remember the last time I had a chardonnay from Oregon but this wine is the real damn deal. It's zipping with acidity and energy, chock full of clean orchard fruit with real balance but with good weight on it. Some lip smacking salinity on the back end as well. It throws off very strong puligny references to me. I don't see a reason to sit on it as it's tasting really good right now.

As I'm writing this note and checking where to buy more, I noticed that the wine was $25 from the winery. There doesn't seem to be anymore on their website, but that looks like the best damn deal in Chardonnay I've had in a long long time. It beats any Bourgogne or Macon in the sub $50 price range by a good mile.

August 16, 2017 - Exceptional. Perfect balance with light, fine oak and moderate finish. More complexity that I would expect at this level. Delicious at this point but will certainly hold for the next couple years; but no reason to wait! Remarkable quality for the price. Has improved in bottle vs. a year ago. I may be conservative on the score.

November 5, 2016 - Friends and I had this at RN74 on 11/5/16. It had a clean, fragrant bouquet of pear, citrus, toast and light spice aromas. The palate was clean and beautifully balanced with flavors of pear, toast, lime, mineral and spice.
