December 7, 2021 - A great example of the power of waiting. The fruit now is completely balanced with the structure. Mineral complements the oak, the butter and butterscotch have faded just enough to create harmony.

July 26, 2021 - I opened the bottle for what turned out to be Monday night sushi. The color is a golden yellow. The nose was floral and wood. The palate was peach, oats and white toast. Yes a strange combo of flavors but I believe that is what you can expect in a older chardonnay. Still enjoyable but it is probably time to start drinking up.

March 8, 2021 - All of the grape-stereotypical descriptions applied: big, fat, oily, sweet, rich; not turning but perhaps past its peak, though the peak would surely have been very similar. Should have been even colder so as to curb the unctuosity. Had with steelhead trout and mustard vinaigrette. Wonderful of the type, but would not repeat. Interesting, to a drier lover, that people are drawn to this sort of thing. I will say that it stayed in balance without flaw as it warmed a little and got even faintly richer-sweeter, as one taster put it. Drink up if you still have any.
