July 5, 2015 - Purple, plum with medium viscosity in the glass. Fresh and harmonious nose of plum, raspberry, pipe-tobacco, tart strawberry, eucalyptus, wet stone and bell pepper. Med-full body and composed with delicious red and black fruit, Asian spice, earth, bell pepper and mint on the palate. Fine, green tannin. Pure spice and minerals. Stunning balance. Nary a hint of jamminess. Med-long finish. Excellent QPR and worth seeking out.

January 27, 2015 - Pleasant garnet color with purple flashes. Nice spicy nose with with blueberries and cassis behind. Medium-bodied and lifted on the palate, showing a certain elegance. Black cherry flavors mix well with allspice and black pepper. Finishes well if quickly, with a bit of grip and drying light tannins. This is a bottle with modest pretensions, and it meets them very very well.

August 22, 2014 - A subtle pepper flavor and a fruity nose. Not a bad zin. I would venture a classic Amador zin.
