June 26, 2020 - Brick-red color; aromas of graham crackers, baked black cherry, plum, raspberry compote, hints of damp, forest floor and mushrooms; flavors of juicy black cherry, medium bodied, smooth, silky mouthfeel, juicy acidity, tannins have resolved leaving impression of dryness, like licking a piece of drying limestone rock - minerality?Oak seems moderate (-), contributing to the graham cracker impression. Obviously effected by age, but still lively.

May 20, 2020 - A little beyond its window but still some fruit and a decent enough Rosso. This would probably have had a higher score if I had drunk it earlier.

    June 2, 2019 - 2nd of 2 bottles.
    Beautifully mature, earthy and savory.
Refined tannins, with delicious dark cherry fruit beneath all the savory flavors.
Delicious, punches way above it's $16 USD pricetag. Drink now through 2020 or so...

April 27, 2019 - At 10 years young this wine is in a really nice drinking window right now. After a little barnyard blows off its bright, full of uplifting notes, cherry berry, with a hint of background savory. Balanced with a long finish.

Bottle didn't make it past the beginning of the entree course (so not sure how it would have developed further). I have one more in the cellar and will wait another couple of years to finish it.

September 12, 2018 - Defines the label "baby Brunello." This is amazingly delicious stuff for <$16. A precocious teenager upon opening, but gains a little weight and complexity after a few hours in the decanter. Hard not to gulp this as a PnP. Just as tasty the second night. Can't wait to try its big brother BdM from the same vintage.
