February 14, 2020 - Full gold color. Aromatics of bruised pear and lychee, crushed rock, saltwater taffy and rose hip. Succulent on the palate, with round notes of yellow apple & melon, along with hints of floral & mineral depth. Nice phenolics and integrated acid, with lingering juicy dryness on the finish. Drinking well.

January 28, 2020 - Chateau Montelena tasting at winery: Notes of savory spices, earth, petrol, stone fruit and toasted almonds on the nose. Bright succulent fruit on the attack with decent secondary depth. Zesty acidity with roundness on the palate. Nicely done.

January 11, 2019 - Bay Area Wine Tour; 1/11/2019-1/15/2019 (Bay Area, CA): Straw color, nose of tennis ball, shower curtain, golden raisin. Touch of oak on palate. Clean, refreshing, good acidity. Dry (0.5% RS)

June 30, 2018 - Another one of these somewhat silly/unnecessary house oddities that Californian producers seem to like to produce. Rather oxidative and sweaty and not at all attractive.

December 24, 2017 - A little on the sweet side, with granny smith apple on the nose and pear on the palate, with a nice mouth feel.

April 15, 2017 - Not what I was looking for but good for what it is; moderately dry. Expected it to be much drier and crisper. Nice citric tree fruits but not the depth expected.

September 5, 2016 - Very nice Napa Valley Riesling. Wine is a golden yellow straw / green colored wine with citrus and pear notes. Flavors are crisp with pear and apricot leading the way. Nice balance but finish is lite, but well worth it for the money. If you are looking for a warm summer night wine this is it. I paired it with a baked chicken and it went well. As I sit on my deck sipping the remaining few drops I say drink this now, but go out and buy another bottle soon and enjoy again.

June 11, 2016 - Just what I expected as in years past the 2014 had apple tones and crisp middle. Shares on the patio on 95 degree day, just a solid summer wine.

Much better than the 2009 I opened a couple months ago. Drink it now
