M acid, M tannins (but soft, starting to show age in a good way), M to M+ body. This is drinking well but has at least several more years of good drinking, perhaps some upside still. This is more impressive than the lower level Campo Viejo and again just very true to style Rioja. Very good value for $20. We had this with kefta tagine and stewed vegetables over couscous, with lots of warm Moroccan spice and cilantro, and it was a wonderful pairing with all that spice. ~6.5-7/10

  September 28, 2019 - Red with slight browinsh hues. Intense aromas of red tree fruit, sweet spices as well as dried fruit. Vanilla and plums dominate. Smooth texture with moderate alcohol and medium finish.

  August 5, 2019 - Deep ruby in color. Dark cherries, plum, tobacco, vanilla and a hint of cedar on the nose. Balanced. Surprisingly mellow tannins. Dark cherries, chocolate on the palate. Medium finish. I expected more of this Hram Reserva. Good, but not great. WE says a 90 and drink through 2022 - that I find questionable.
