Community Tasting Notes 20

February 25, 2021 - A bit soft. Pleasant honey, soft wool, orange peel. A bit of acid, but not enough to quite balance it out. Nice, but aging. Drink.

August 10, 2020 - Dare I say it? Prem--ed! This one was drinkable (sort of), but something definitely went sideways Chez les Chidaine in 2014.

June 6, 2020 - Lovely, silky, classy wine. Fully mature, but still with a lively burst. Broad with a bit of honey, wool, steel. Long finish. Really fantastic, but probably starting on the downhill, although I understand bottle variation is significant.

May 24, 2020 - Was feeling lucky so I rolled the dice on my last 2014 Chidaine chenin. Coravin pour - little darker than I'd like to see. Bit nervous, but the nose was lively and full of wooly citrus so I was feeling better. First taste and any premox fears that I had were immediately erased. Fresh, acid driven orchard fruits, wool, with a hint of bitter honey on a very long finish. Excellent wine! As my man Ice Cube would say, 'Today was a good day'

May 2, 2020 - Darn near the same experience as Nov '17, only this time I found there were a little more acids and I liked it better. Might have been the spring gnocchi we paired it with.

Fairly darker yellow in color. Lanolin, honey, apricot, white flowers with pleasant acids. Spouse called out an oily component but I sensed more of the waxiness. Eldest daughter and I really enjoyed this. Drinking very nicely.
