Community Tasting Notes 9

September 6, 2020 - Second tasting of this wine 3 years since the previous. Not ss enthusiastic this time around. A lot of graphite, chalk, dark chocolate and grippy tannins. Quite earthy and sharp red berries. Perhaps my tastes have changed since 2017.

March 6, 2019 - I cannot believe that any winemaker could intentionally make a wine as bad as this. After 6 years of careful cellaring, it still tastes like battery acid, which only goes to show that if a wine tastes like crap when it's young, it ain't going to get any better.

September 14, 2017 - Dark red with red hue..

Blackberry and black current, licorice, cedar, tobacco and pencil shavings..

Nice balance between savoury and fruit..

    Medium plus body
    Medium acidity
    Medium plus length

I think the drinking window is about right, hold a year or two..

April 17, 2017 - Still tastes like crap. Can't believe I paid $60 for this extremely poor and unpleasant wine. I was hoping a bit of bottle age might have soothed my perceptions, but this wine has not improved one iota since my last tasting.

April 14, 2017 - Magnificent wine. Lots of red fruit and oak. What else could you ask for? Oh some herbaceousness thrown in for good measure too. Still young and needed an hour to decant. Opened up to be a real winner at the dinner party.
