August 9, 2018 - Cellar orphan inherited from a big event two years ago. Big wine but not quite the Mae West it used to be--the massive oak remains noticeable but is more integrated and the fruit's calmed down. Plenty of structure for continued cellaring if you can take the oak.

May 22, 2016 - This was the most-talked about white in the room among 74 tasters last Friday night. Handsome, heavy bottle, classy label, and big California-esque oak and nearly-tropical ripeness on the palate. Mango, pineapple and yellow apple, big rich mouthfeel and an impressive finish. And only $7 at Trader Joe's??? Even someone who prefers leaner, more sedate wines (me) has to admire the QPR here. Doesn''t seem possible.
