April 2, 2021 - PNP. Still very intense. Delineated notes of cinnamon, clove, tart red fruits with characteristic saline notes from the Santa Maria Valley region on the finish. No hurry to drink my last 2 bottles, but it’s in a good place currently. I love comparing these with RRV Pinot. They are both very ripe (and delicious) but the SMV trades the RRV’s rich, creamy texture for more structure and definition.

April 2, 2021 - This is in a really great place. Lovely nose of currants, daisies and crushed cherries. Coats the mouth. Delicious.

July 27, 2020 - Consistent with prior bottle in April. Nose of plums, dark purple in color. Soothes the palate with the aforesaid plum, dark cherry and hints of earth. Really great.

April 25, 2020 - Nose of plums, dark cherry, wet leaves and a light hint of charcoal. Quite attractive from the first sip. Nice balance of fruit, tannin and alcohol. Should continue to drink fine through 2022/2023.
