Color and clarity youthful clear cherry. 5
Mustard, horseradish, red berry and orange peel nose. 12
PNP - Huge unresolved high octane palate of cherry and pomegranate structured and bright. Took 2 hours in the decanter to come together. 16
Finish is endless and ever evolving. 8

December 11, 2021 - I'm all in. Santa Rita ava is my happy place and this is what makes it my happy place. Elegant and balanced. Strawberry, cola and orange zest with stemmy, earthy undertones. Soft and bright.

    In a good place now

May 27, 2020 - Incredible wine. Great energy and depth. Strawberry, earth and spice. Developed for several hours after opening the bottle. Definitely several more years left in this one.

August 5, 2019 - Strawberry, red raspberry, cherry and some spices on both the palette and nose. Very enjoyable with a nice slightly burgundian sharp nose that gives way to what is clearly a new world interpretation of pinot. Classy and vibrant. Didn't improve much with air vs. pop and pour.

April 29, 2017 - No decanting needed. This is more straight forward then Machado, with a good grip, nice acidity. Refreshing and sexy.
