February 16, 2024 - Fabulous precision for the price, in perfect condition (screw-cap), quite intense reduction nonetheless that takes a while to calm down. Although this is all steel, stone and nerves, it doesn't quite come alive and sing like a top class Burgundy does - sometimes does. I should probably stop attempting to compare them, but I just can't help it....
In short, really good and really inexpensive vs what you get.

February 11, 2024 - Ridiculously good at the price point…. Ridiculous.

Burgundy winemakers would benefit from an apprenticeship at Kumeu River, because this wine is 9 years old and not only is it not utterly knackered, but it has many years to go.

If you wanted a white Burgundy that wasn’t utterly knackered at 10 years you would need to pay over £100 for it (with a minuscule number of exceptions), and it would still be unreliable.

    There. I said it.

November 9, 2023 - Serve it at room temperature, air this in a big wine glass for a few hours. Then it will become a very fine chardonnay that can easily beat most of the Puligny Montrachet village level wines. It is astoundingly complex and harmonious on the palate, and comes with a long pleasant finish.

October 7, 2023 - Pale to medium yellow, like hay. This was really quite sophisticated, nice reduction, and in perfect shape bottled under screw cap. The fruit tends to citrus rather than stone, lip-smackingly crisp and with excellent bite. It puts me more than a little in mind of a top class village Burgundy made by someone who knows what they are doing, and at the price (of £25 on the table) you have the say this over-delivers vs the French version. Boy is this good, in great shape, very solid and quite delicious. I immediately bought some more at the same price, there is no higher praise.

December 19, 2022 - Still in excellent shape. Fruit, some toasty vanilla, and acidity smoothed out nicely. Doesn't quite have the complexity or length of finish of a premier cru Puligy, but it's up there with the better village Burgundy at half the price.
With grilled sole and then grilled John Dory. Went very well with the former, less so with the latter but the poached egg and mustard vinaigrette was the culprit there not the wine!
