Community Tasting Notes 1

August 8, 2009 - An interesting wine from an appelation that does not get much shelf space here in the states. I found this dusty bottle 3 years ago at a Liquour Depot in Syracuse NY and kept it cellared since then. Decanted and then poured, it was a bit reticent at first with sour notes. Over time it started to reveal spices, mint and dark fruits. As usual with wines like this, the last glass was the best. By now the wine had opened enough to reveal the cloves, nutmeg and rasberry fruit. Nice finish as well with the tannins still firm.
