Community Tasting Notes 3

August 10, 2022 - Clear blackish red in color with clear watery rim. The nose is highly nuanced and may be characterized by mature fruit, somewhat subdue with lots of meaty, gamey, and earthy overtones with a pronounced mushroom umami component which is quite nice. The palate is very soft, mellow and dry, fairly well balanced with nothing seem to be out of place, medium-bodied, medium intensity with a nice structure and refreshing savoriness. The flavor profile is quite complex, with matured red fruits, violets, a mix of fresh and dried herbs, meat, wild game, peppery spice, mild oak, and lots of mushroom and sous bois notes which makes it quite enjoyable as it is memorable. This 10 year old St. Joseph is drinking at its peak right now but should continue to drink well for at least the short term. This is a very lovely and well-balanced wine with lots of character.

July 3, 2020 - Nice nose of Brett, red and black fruits, some nice grippy tannins. Good

February 5, 2017 - Dejlig duft der ikke helt passer ind i mit billede af Nordrhone. Lidt for lys og frugtet. Meget nem at drikke. Alkohol og tanniner er fint afdæmpede. Omend dejlig mangler den lidt i at være 230DKK værd.
