Community Tasting Notes 1

September 23, 2015 - This very rare bird, made from an indigenous grape called sibirkovy at a winery with pre-(Russian) revolutionary roots, reminded me of a Petit Chablis from a good producer. The nose was fairly subdued with some grassy, chalky, mineral aromas. Amidst balanced acidity and just a bit of alcoholic warmth (despite reportedly being 12.5%), those notes continued on the palate, with some added citrusy notes on the finish. At just over $10 per (attractively packaged) bottle (in Moscow) this was well worth trying.
