December 28, 2012 - Opened a bottle for dinner tonight, wondering if the wine might be so far past its prime, based on the community tasting notes, that it would be undrinkable. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Had a strong nose, a long, complex finish. Was a terrific foil for stuffed peppers. I think correctly cellared bottles will drink well through 2014.

January 16, 2009 - I got a call from my wine store telling me about some close out wines that they wanted me to taste. After tasting this one, I ended up getting a case. Just popped and poured with some glass swirling. Incredible nose of black cherry, currant and scorched earth. Taste of dark fruit, earth, chocolate and oak. Very well balanced with smooth tanins giving it a long, seamless finish. Amazing wine. This is a Paul Hobbs from Argentina that is drinking perfectly right now.
