Community Tasting Notes 4

  • mike l. Does not like this wine: 80 points

July 23, 2019 - not feeling it at all. this is tart and high toned and one dimensional to a fault. it's one note cranberry and quite thin. waste of money and lacked the verve of other Irancy i've had.

(and no it wasnt a flawed bottle).

February 26, 2018 - Better on day two. Fun wine. Not what his reds are but delicious regardless.

January 21, 2017 - A private lunch (Restaurant Bak, Amsterdam, NL): From a 0.6ha parcel, planted to 100% Pinot Noir (no César included), 13% ABV, some 4,000 bottles produced. Light strawberry and cherry red; crunchy red cherries, cranberry compote, wonderfully fresh and cool style, tight but the fruit is ripe, light to medium body, violets, pure and linear, mineral and energetic, fine-grained skin phenolics, hint of cream, good length. A lovely expression of terroir and vintage.

May 25, 2016 - Introducing Irancy to Spanish Aficionados (Restaurante Garcia de la Navarra - Madrid): A very young bottle with numerous violet reflections.
Obviously it has class and soon shows aromas of cherry, licorice and a mineral background. In the mouth it has a lot of density, elegance and silky texture.
However many of my mates missed a real sense of tipicity that should provide a bottle labeled Irancy. Far away from last 2004 tasting.
