October 28, 2023 - Wow, I could drink this all day. Light color. Nose is brioche, chalk, honeycomb, crisp pears. Good acidity and saline on the finish. That could describe any decent champagne; this one has restrained elegance. Some nice toasty complexity starting to develop but will likely never overwhelm. With breathing, smoky hazelnuts slowly coming out and eventually take over— a clear BdB sign. While I’d be reluctant to turn down a glass of Krug or Bollinger, I’ve noticed that my taste is swinging much more towards vintage blanc de blancs. 2008 was an awesome vintage and this has all the right stuff. Will it beat 2008 Comtes de Champagne? Uh, no, but it’s also less than 1/3 the price. I will be interesting to compare it, however, with my bottles of ‘08 Bolly Grand Année. Something tells me this may go longer?

October 27, 2023 - Great Champs for heavier, flavorful apps. Good acidity and more palate weight than many top Chaps like Taitt CC or Cristal. Nice brioche, stony lemon rind, pear, full finish. Glad to have more bottles and mags. Will live another 10 yrs, esp the mags.

October 21, 2023 - This continues to drink well in 750 format; seems mature though no signs of fading; an added layer of richness and honey with lemon, pear, wet stone. Good intensity to the flavor and lovely depth.

June 2, 2023 - Similar; very enjoyable; honey and brioche with minerality and a lovely interplay between richness and freshness; drinking well now, but no rush

April 9, 2023 - Opened to try another bottle since I just bought more; good stuff and good value; has some richness and brioche initially, gets fresher throughout the evening and has very good depth. Drinks well now, but seems like it should age well for quite a while yet.
