March 7, 2024 - Decanted about 2 hours. Drinking very nicely right now. Dark fruit and graphite on the nose, if somewhat muted. Lovely and soft on the palate, with a pleasant lingering fruity acidity on the finish. Not a big complex wine, but very enjoyable.

September 30, 2023 - From 75cl, a bottle of impeccable provenance. Exquisite cork, decanted 1 hour, did not develop or improve during the evening. Smells and tastes like a rich, luxurious, possibly Californian Bdx blend entering early maturity, but beyond the ripe dark black fruit, expensive oak and smooth texture (delicious, all of them), I can't recognise a sense of place, a feeling of depth, or any kind of resonant character here. If I had more of this, I'd hold off at least 5 years before opening another bottle in the hope that a bit of St. Estèphe or—daring thought—even specific Cos character might emerge. The substance does seems to be there. But this might be quite wrong: The Chateau seems to recommend drinking Pagodes within 10 years after the vintage, so even allowing for the French habit of downing their most age-worthy wines in infancy, this might well have been most fun when it was still young, dumb and full of the joys of spring. 88P(+?)

July 21, 2023 - A hint of garnet showing it’s age but still in early to mid stages of drinking window. Nose of blue and black fruit and a bit of earth and tobacco. Palate is a classic left bank, with cassis, graphite, and some loamy earth and tobacco, but the main sense is one of fresh rain on warm slate. Savory, dry and best with food but still delicious. Only minor concern is the fruit intensity isn’t quite there given it’s a second wine, so probably at or near it’s peak and best to drink up.

May 2, 2023 - Splash decant. Deep dark, yet bright, ruby color (little sign of age). Opulent black cherry, blueberry, walnut, violet, mushroom, brioche, and subtle parsley. Very smooth, dry palate, with fine acidity. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish.

This wine blew my lady friend away. We were both a bit bedazzled by the whole experience at this little Parisian bistro (Chez Fernand - Christine), which had terrific food and fun atmosphere. The wine has aged perfectly and is so integrated/elegant right now.
