August 19, 2023 - 100% Nebbiolo from the Gallina cru. Fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks for 2-3 weeks. Aged for 24 months in 500-liter tonneaux, then racked into old botti casks and aged for another 12 months before bottling. 14,5% alcohol.

Translucent, luminous cherry-red color with a colorless rim. The nose feels fragrant, quite youthful and slightly sweet-toned with attractive aromas of ripe red cherries, some ferrous notes of blood, a little bit of wild strawberry, light perfumed nuances of dried roses and other flowers, hints of ripe cranberries and red plums, a touch of tobacco and a whiff of alcohol. The wine feels dry, savory and moderately ripe with a medium body and layered flavors of sour cherries and cranberries, some earthy tones, a little bit of tart lingonberry, light savory notes of meaty umami, hints of tobacco and licorice root and a touch of dried roses. The overall feel is firm and pretty structured yet not aggressive or too tightly-knit with the rather high acidity and ample, moderately grippy tannins. The finish is rich, savory and moderately grippy with a long, juicy aftertaste of ripe cranberries and sour cherry bitterness, some tobacco, a little bit of tart lingonberry, light earthy notes, a hint of gamey meat and a touch of alcohol warmth.

A nice, balanced and juicy single-vineyard Barbaresco that is in a quite nice spot right now, although there seems to be a little bit more to go before the wine is at its plateau of maturity. There is still enough room for further tertiary complexity and the tannins are yet to resolve fully, but the wine has lost most of its toughness and angular austerity it showed with my previous taste, some eight years ago. Probably it will take another 5-10 years before this wine reaches its plateau of maturity and it will stay there for a good number of years more. All in all, a nice and harmonious effort. Superb value at 25,90€.

February 3, 2023 - Bright and nicely transparent ruby colour, slight evolution but 'watery edges'. Nice fruity nose of plum, liquorice. Quite complex red and dark fruits and balsamic tones on the taste. Balanced acidity and some silky but firm tannins. A real nice wine still with potential. Really like it!

September 17, 2019 - not much garnet for nebbiolo quite bright color, floral violet nose with underlying truffles dried plums and just a hint of rubber wheel (not at all unpleasant), red cherries and plums, elegant medium body just the right amount of acidity and well integrated tannins give it a long lasting finish (no new oak, only used "grandi botti")

May 10, 2019 - Floral nose with sour cherries, raspberriss and licorice. Some smoke, manchego rind and peachy fruit.
Medium bodied and grippy with pronounced acidity. Good concentration of ripe fruit and warming alcohol. Long.
Yeah, this is very good, but the palate needs years to really come through.
