December 14, 2023 - Brambleberry and bright cherry nose… piercing red fruit acidity with fine persistent tannins and an austere slightly astringent finish … decanted for 2 hours before serving and it really helped mellow the finish out. Classic power without weight. Given the vibrancy of the fruit and the tannins this has upside to drink starting 2030.

April 18, 2023 - Cherry, spices and a bit of shoe polish on the nose. Palate is fresh, fruit forward with a tannic grip. Tannins are very fine, but tactile. Long finish and very savoury overall. Feels like it needs another 3-5 years and is somewhere on between fruit and tertiary phase.

April 6, 2023 - Tasted during a visit to Meursault. Sour cherry fruit with mineral layers of smoke and graphite and a chocolate flavors which add a nice kick. The palate was a bit austere unfortunately and not as polished as I had hoped, but consistent with a previous bottle.

December 18, 2022 - Kleur: Fluwelig helder rood. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 16 + Algemeen / potentieel: 8 = 90/100

Colour: Velvety bright red. Aroma / bouquet: Subtle but pleasant bouquet, strawberry compote, gingerbread, refined wood, nougat. Taste / Aftertaste: Pleasant, fresh acidity, an above average filling, tough but pleasant tannins. Pleasant Volnay, excellent balance, with above average length. General / Potential: Very drinkable at this stage, perhaps more complex and impressive in a slightly more developed state. 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Taste / Aftertaste: 16 + General / potential: 8 = 90/100

November 2, 2022 - same experience as in my note from mid-2018... this was nice but not great, and seemed either shut down (had after three hours of decant, and the next night too, after gassing up) or just not at all like many 2015's I have had (bold, fruit fwd, giving at this young age, etc)... not going to buy again given my two test btls... there are much better Lafon SdM's around to buy (other vintages) and much better 2015 red burgs to buy (Jadot CSJ to name one)... this could blossom in 20 years but not sure
