January 2, 2016 - The wine is clear and bright with a deep garnet colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing pronounced intensity aromas of black fruit (blackberries, dark plums), pungent spices (black pepper) and oak ageing (clove, cedar).

The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has medium+ fine-grained tannins and a high well-integrated alcohol. It has a full body and pronounced intensity flavours of black fruit (blackberries, dark plums), pungent spices (black pepper) and oak ageing (clove, cedar). The finish is long.

It is a very good quality wine. It has a lingering finish and a tasty fruit concentration that balances the tannic structure and the alcohol strength. However, a better example of this style would show more complexity.

Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop some tertiary aromas in the next 2-3 years.

October 11, 2015 - Appearance: Clear wine with a deep ruby colour.

Nose: Clean nose with a medium+ intensity. This wine is developing.

Clean and distinct on the nose - unmistakably Syrah! Ripe blackberries and plums are well balanced with crushed mint, black pepper, vanilla and soft leather. Very pleasant.

    Palate:
    Dry
    Medium+ acidity
    High alcohol
    Medium+ tannins
    Medium+ intensity
    Medium+ body
    Medium finish

Lively, round and slightly sweet on the palate reflecting the nose with black fruits, mint and black pepper. The tannins are smooth and well integrated, acidity is lively and the flavours distinct fading into a slightly sweet finish.

Very good quality Syrah from McClaren Vale. Can drink now but has the structure to age for another 1-3 years. At 12 euros a bottle, very good QPR and the best QPR 100% Syrah I have yet tried in Spain!
