January 16, 2019 - holding up nicely through three days open. dense ruby color. tons of black pepper on the nose to start but opens to show gray stone, dark berries, and blood orange. by day three notes with spring flowers, leather, and australian black licorice. palate medium full, low acidity but fresh, a tad bit creamy, and pleasing. flavor profile shows more of the berry milieu with blackberries, black currants, dark plums, and bell peppers. fine tannins and medium length finish. more fruit emerges with air and time. would benefit from a few more years or a brisk decant.
