  January 7, 2024 - Gorgeous stuff, still quite tense on the palate, it is much more expressive on the nose, this still needs a year or a few to open up.
  
  Airy and lifted on the nose: red cherry and plum, a little prune, a little leather and tobacco, so many delicate spicy tones, a distinct alpine forest element, like a stand of spruce and balsam fir are right here in the room, notes of petrichor, wild mint, fennel and pepper too... Tangy and lively on the palate, fresh and dried fruits, the inner perfume features lots of spicy and herbal tones, petrichor, and that beautiful coniferous thing, firm Nebbiolo tannins frame everything but they are refined and not as assertive as most Barbaresco and Barolo, the alcohol is also lower here (12.5!) so this is not nearly as full and thick as the average Langhe Nebbiolo with this much concentration and depth, so this has significant impact but a certain gorgeous ethereal quality. Long and elegant finish, the spicy alpine character really lingers, it is, however, tart and tense, and I can see how this might be a divisive wine. I think it's Italian wine at its finest, and so look forward to drinking this in 5 to 10 years.
  
  I'd recommend double decanting 24 hours in advance, as that will probably make the most of it at this stage.

  December 2, 2023 - With a couple of hours with air this comes good. Dark plums, tobacco, stingy tannins indicatin a long life ahead.

  March 30, 2022 - Bue au restaurant Ca' del Profeta à Montaldo Scarampi (propriété de l'ex-footballeur international brésilien Hernanes qui accueille personnellement les convives). C'était notre seconde visite et c'était à nouveau un excellent repas. La carte des vins, par contre, n'est pas à la hauteur de la cuisine. Nous avons choisi, par défaut, ce Boca Le Piane 2013. Le vin était légèrement trouble, nez de sous-bois, goudron, clairement trop évolué pour le millésime, bouche un peu déséquilibrée, astringente, tanins sèchards, un vin clairement décevant.
