March 6, 2024 - I don't think I've ever seen a wine throw this much sediment, not even anything considerably older, so decanting is in order. This has come around a bit, still a bit big and clumsy but the finish was long, and it wasn't without some charm.

January 11, 2024 - A stellar wine that has great qpr & is still a touch on the big side although the tannins are starting to dry out a touch.

December 30, 2023 - From a case plus acquired at release and at 55F since - these have been strong rustic wines from start to now nearing the end of stash. No awards for grace but I get admirable concentration and structure and longevity for a 20$ wine - youthful dense purple black - blackberry preserves and charred stuff on nose and palate where the bitter char notes outlast the fruit and sandy tannins dry the membranes still as if it were in its infancy.
Not a stellar trophy but not too shabby either in my book. I suppose the rustic tannic structure will always be the defining feature of this wine and as the fruit fades the rusticity will shine through even brighter. My last few will be on the front burner.

Stretched this bottle for 3 days - lovely and fresh on day 3 - huge crust on bottle and sediment in bottom yet the wine remains impenetrably purple black and youthful in color. A veryable monument for a song.

November 11, 2023 - Just didn't do much for me. Rich with fruit and terroir, but unbalanced and I never remember a wine with that much sediment. Certainly not worth the price tag.

September 14, 2023 - Over-ripe and over extracted style. Perhaps it had a bit of heat damage but that wasnt the consensus on the table. Worthy contender for a blind tasting but not joyful
